Introduction: 2018 is coming to an end, and a new year is just around the corner. MINISO Group successfully held the 2018 business annual conference in Ning Bo Shangri-La Hotel on November 30, 2018. With the theme of “March And Make Great Achievement Together”, MINISO invited Mr. Ma Guangyuan and Mr. Liu Run, the famous economists in China, to share the development trend of retail industry and make predictions about the market. Over 500 important suppliers, franchisees and investment partners attended the conference.

Upgrades of technology, social interaction and consumption patterns, all of them are the challenges and opportunities for traditional retail. To come back to the essence of retail and to think about changes are the innovation and the power to move forward for retail industry. During the MINISO 2018 business annual conference, Mr. Ma and Mr. Liu delivered keynote speeches. Mr. Ma Guangyuan, Chinese famous economist, had reviewed the economic development of China since the reform and opening up 40 years ago and predicted that, “the rise of retail industry will become a major economic event in China in the next decade.” He also indicated that, the essence of all retailing is to improve the consumers’ experience. While the Runmi Consulting Company founder Liu Run considered that, “new retail” is about higher-efficiency retailing. Under the premise of consumer experience as the core, the “new retail” has reconstructed three major elements, which are consumer, retailing and goods.

In the past year, MINISO has not weakened its economic growth under the economic downturn, and even made great breakthroughs in its reform and innovation. Mr. Ye Guofu, the president of MINISO Group, said that MINISO had adopted the multi-brands strategy to satisfy the needs of consumers from different social classes; while in terms of innovation breakthroughs, on one hand, MINISO had improved the overall efficiency of logistics, visitors flow, capital flow and information flow by using SAP enterprise management software; on the other hand, it won strategic investment of CNY 1 billion from Tencent and Hillhouse Capital. Mr. Ye also shared MINISO’s 2019 product planning at the conference, including collaboration with world-class intellectual properties, six themes and five categories. He indicated that, “let global consumers buy better products with lower price” is MINISO’s original intention, which will never change in the future.

MINISO has opened more than 3,200 stores in over 60 countries and regions in five years, which are well received by local consumers.
