Dark Horse Retailer MINISO Holds Global Investment Fair in Malaysia


 The Japanese fast fashion designer brand MINISO held the “MINISO-Saiman Fund Global Investment Fair” themed around “Hello! The World” on July 24, 2016 at the Hilton Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr. Miyake Junya, global co-founder and chief designer of MINISO, and Mr. Ye Guofu, global co-founder of MINISO showed up in this conference and signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements with representatives from Iran, the Arab United Emirates and Morocco, etc.

Miyake Junya in his speech addressed that since its very birth, MINISO has adhered to the design-first philosophy and followed the design aesthetics of simplicity, practicability and fashion without boredom, in the hope of conveying such design philosophy to global consumers, helping them develop healthy consumption ideas, and promoting the life attitude of sustainable development. Over the past two years since its establishment, MINISO has worked hard to integrate global designer resources and the designer team of MINISO is enriched by talents from North Europe, Japan, Korea, etc.

While Mr. Ye Guofu stated that MINISO has long been committed to offering global consumers with products of quality and competitive prices, relieving them shopping pressure, and making their shopping experiences pressure-free and happy. Such brand philosophy is well received so far by the market: MINISO has opened over 1400 stores globally in less than three years, with the sales volume standing at 5 billion RMB in 2015, ranking as the NO.1 physical retailing brand worldwide in terms of the expansion speed. The turnover of MINISO in 2016 is expected to be 10 billion RMB.

The cooperation agreements with Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco, etc., signed during this investment fair indicate that the African and Middle East markets will be open to MINISO, thus bringing about a brighter future for MINISO to implement its globalization strategy.

MINISO held the first investment fair in Hong Kong in March, 2016 and has signed comprehensive cooperation agreement with over 36 countries and regions, including Korea, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, etc. The first MINISO flagship store was opened successfullyin Malaysia last May, with the turnover exceeding 300,000 RMB in the first week upon opening. Another two stores were opened successively in one month with an astounding speed. Taking this investment fair as an opportunity, MINISO launched the opening ceremony of its Bukit store and wonderful celebration of its KL Sentral store. Popular star Bella Nazari was invited to win more popularity for MINISO and colorful activities inside stores also added glamour to the event.
